THE CARPE DIEM ARTS SPANISH IMMERSION CAMP For 7-11 year-olds (2019 CAMP IS FULL)
A unique camp experience embracing the visual, literary, performing, and culinary arts — with low staff-camper ratio.
Carpe Diem Arts Spanish Immersion camp is a fun week of engaging, hands-on activities designed to foster Spanish language acquisition through art and play. Campers will enjoy art projects, ukulele lessons, recipe preparation, stories, songs, games, shop at a mini market, solve a mystery and even complete a science experiment, all in the target language! Activities are differentiated to accommodate campers with various levels of Spanish. Come join the fun!
CAMP DIRECTOR CARRIE EWACHIW loves the Spanish language and related cultures! She is excited to share this passion with others. Over the years, Carrie has worked with students in preschool up to the college level. She has a B.A. in Spanish and an M.A. in Second Language Acquisition and Application. Carrie’s adventures abroad include a semester of study in Spain, a year teaching at a university in Peru, and travel in Costa Rica, Argentina and Uruguay.
